The idea for Museums was to explore each of them as a visitor, take as many photographs as I could of the building’s inner infrastructure and then combine them into a deconstructed whole. I avoided photographing any artwork or recognizable architecture, eschewing genius for the prosaic. In keeping with my other projects about urban structures, my intent was not to accurately depict each institution but, rather, to pay homage to them by focusing on their unseen attributes in order to create large composite pictures that describe different shapes, patterns and color.
